#2: An Awesome Drink is Made Here

Can you believe a drink has taken over an entire town? It is called Boost and some refer to it as a flat cola taste that can be enjoyed over ice or in slushie form. If you go into your local deli or convenient store you’ll notice people constantly buying large Boost drinks. Originally it was called Takaboost then Drink A Toast then settled on just Boost in 1997. It’s creator, Benjamin R. Faunce, was a pharmacist who set up shop on Scott Street in Riverside. He used it to treat an upset stomach but people loved it so much it became a recreational drink. Now the people of Riverside drink Boost instead of their morning coffee.

#3: Lots of History

Samuel Bechtold (not sure if I’m related to him since we share the same last name) founded Riverside which was first called “Progress” in 1851 as a resort town. People would come to enjoy the woods, ponds, streams, and the Delaware River. Many city folk would come over from Philadelphia to enjoy the town. Riverside was incorporated as a town in 1895. A portion of Delran was used to create Riverside. In addition, the staple of the town is seeing the wonderful architecture of the Watch Case Tower. It was the largest manufacturer of pocket watches at the time and exported to all over the world. Here is a link to more info and great historic photos.

#4: Waterfront Properties and River Fun

There are opportunities to enjoy the Delaware River and Rancocas Creek. A few marinas are in the area and many people own boats. You can enjoy floating around the river or do some fishing. There are also a few opportunities to own waterfront properties which offers a BEAUTIFUL view.
